Vocational Education and Training

Whether you’re looking to take the first step in your career or your higher education, a vocational education and training (VET) qualification can be ideal.

The VET sector is supported by government and industry, offering qualifications from government-owned Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions, as well as private institutions. Both Australian and NSW Governments provide funding, develop policies and help regulate the sector.

Industry and employer groups help VET providers teach in-demand professional skills such as on-site learning. This means you can gain priceless industry experience that prepares you for your chosen industry.

VET qualifications are outcome based and focus on the practical skills needed for your career. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) recognises prior learning and competence in relevant industries. This makes credit transfer easier and offers flexible learning pathways. There are 4 levels of certificates (Certificate I, II, III and IV), as well as diploma courses and advanced diploma courses.

Your VET course will train you to design, plan, and deliver the practical and technical aspects of your field.
