Delivering excellence in NSW's education ecosystem

Study NSW maintains an active portfolio of international education policy engagements. This includes addressing issues related to international student welfare, developing the state’s international education ecosystem and advocating for the sector. We also represent the sector across NSW Government, Australian Government and civil society committees.

NSW International Education Advisory Board

Established in 2014, the NSW International Education Advisory Board (IEAB) and its subcommittees provide forums for meaningful industry engagement and expert advice on Study NSW’s strategic direction.

The IEAB’s composition reflects the sector’s diversity and includes members from universities, private colleges, TAFE NSW, local governments, and edtech. Study NSW leverages this diversity to exchange market intelligence on emerging issues, and to amplify Study NSW initiatives.

Members are appointed by the Minister with portfolio responsibility for Study NSW.

The Study NSW Marketing Consultation Committee is a subcommittee of the IEAB and provides expert insight and opinion on Study NSW’s marketing and promotion exercises, both onshore and offshore. The Committee works to ensure that Study NSW’s marketing activities are as effective as possible and complement existing industry initiatives. The Committee’s also about engaging with the NSW community on the benefits of international students.

NSW International Student Experience Consultation Committee

The NSW International Student Experience Consultation Committee (ISECC) is a subcommittee of the IEAB. This committee works to ensure that program and policy engagements are impactful to the sector. The ISECC is composed of representatives across all international education subsectors, alongside professionals from community, local government, peak bodies, and business groups.

Membership is broad and expanded in response to emerging issues across the sector. Members are appointed by the ISECC on behalf of the NSW International Education Advisory Board.
