International student story

NSW: a study destination with infinite possibilities

Shivwani has completed a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Technology Sydney through the International Baccalaureate Scholarship for Southeast Asian students. She is now working in marketing.

About Shivwani

Shivwani's favourite memory in NSW was her summer road trip to Jervis Bay, where she experienced an escape from city life. She enjoys studying in NSW thanks to the efficient public transport, and the unique mix of cosmopolitan city life with access to relaxing mountains and oceans.

Moving forward, Shivwani sees herself growing into a managerial role in marketing for the non-for-profit sector, where she could give back to communities in NSW.

Shivwani’s tips

"I recommend getting university accommodation by putting through an early application before you receive your offer letter. This helps you secure your accommodation and build friendships.

You can also check Facebook marketplace for shared housing and meeting housemates. Go to Australian education expositions in your home country to speak with university representatives. Browse university rankings including subjects/disciplines and learn what to expect for university life on university social media channels. Finally, visit NSW before moving and check out the universities in-person, if you can.”
